Sorry for the delay of the duck report, but have been busy during

split catching up on some rest.  We had several good days right after

Christmas then it fell off toward the 1st of the year.  The last three

days of the split we ended up killing 80 birds weather was warm.

We kicked off the last split today with 18 guys killing 70 birds mostly

mallards and all in rice fields because of the rain.  Looks like we will

be getting some cold weather on Sun. night.  We are a little over

2200 birds with 15 hunting days left so hopefully we can reach the

3000 mark. 

I hope everyone has enjoyed the holidays and are getting

geared up again for some cooler weather and some mallard drakes

coming in.  Looks like we should have a good shoot with the guys

coming in from Gainsville GA and Monroe GA this will be their 7th year

here with last year probably one of their best.  We ended up the last

couple of days before the split with killing mallards on Sat and falling off

a bit on Sun but still had some decent shooting.  Looking forward to

getting started again

Warm weather has brought in some mallards for our enjoyment

Ended up with 87 ducks today Wind picked up today ducks flew

early and often.  You cant kill them in the lodge.

Sorry for the slow posts about the hunt but have been spending lots

of time trying to find mallards.  Froze up a couple of times this week

with the birds flying in the afternoon.  Been averaging about 30-40

birds with some mallard showing up.  Much needed rain is on the way

to fill up some lowlands around hopefully to hold some ducks.

Rice fields were frozen with reservoirs and timber getting most

of the shooting.  Looking forward for the full moon going the

other way.  Several more mallards killed today

Matt Lowes reservoir was high blind today with 10 ducks

mainly grey ducks  total was 30

Buckshot blind killed 6 ducks with the total

at 10 pretty slow with cold on the way

Windy and cool this morning with buckshot blind getting

20 ducks with some mallards trying to work, sun finally came

out and had some success another group kill 10 ducks mostly mallards

Looks like several more mallards here   Check back later

Big group came in with a cold front inching its way but

didnt arrive until this evening ended up with 34 ducks

Not many ducks moving around
